The Boogens is a 1981 creature feature set in a small, snowy mining community. Trouble begins for the local residents when a dormant terror is disturbed.
For a smaller film the presentation on Blu-Ray is indeed good from Kino Lorber. As far as I am aware this is the only official release available. Theres probably a good quality Spanish bootleg knocking about. The disk is region A locked so you’ll need to be all region ready. The transfer is nice and perfectly fine for this film. I am curious if a 4K for this movie would be much of an improvement.
The sleeve has different reversible artwork and comes with a slipcover which showcases the theatrical artwork well. The special features are minimal, theres barely any. Overall a good release for this movie, the best out there. I didn’t care for the feature too much. It’s a standard cheesy creature feature with pretty terrible creature effects, although they have a charm to them.
