The new standard for 88 Film’s limited edition packaging is rivalling Arrow in quality. Murder-Rock, on 4k for the first time in the UK, is no exception. With bright vibrant new art on the set’s slipcover then the same lovely artwork featuring a half naked female victim and other dancers is featured on the limited thick box. Inside the art is featured on the sleeve for the black amaray case, which has reversible artwork. Housing the 4K UHD disk and the film on a new Blu-Ray. The boxset contains one artwork featuring another alternative movie poster & an 80+ page perfect bound book. The book is full of information with some shots from the film. It’s very text heavy whilst maintaining a nice balance with the photos.
The transfer is very good featuring more colour depth and image detail. I’m comparing this release to the scorpion Blu-Ray release from years ago. From what I can see this isn’t the most significant upgrade to 4k you will notice. Still it’s a worthy upgrade and a welcome Fulci film for 88’s Italian Collection.
The film follows a dance academy taunted by a killer with a vendetta. The film’s soundtrack features excellent work from Keith Emerson.
