Whilst it may not be the most highly regarded Stephen King adaptation, Graveyard shift is still an underrated gem that should get more eyes on it. The new 4k from Kino looks superb given the film’s age. It retains its natural look whilst having a fresh coat of paint due to the new transfer. I certainly noticed a significant improvement from my Scream Factory Blu-Ray.
Andrew Divoff serves up a detestable, pig headed and arrogant villain with Hanson. It’s an action packed creature feature especially the nail biting final act. The movie features a ton of rats, enough to make your skin crawl. The small town feel and location is captured superbly and it feels like an excellently executed TV movie. With its grim old mill setting and a bug eyed Brad Dourif as the exterminator you will be in for an awesome experience. I think Graveyard Shift is underrated and should be placed in the upper echelon of Stephen King adaptations.
