Creep is a 2004 British production which mixes brutal violence with the claustrophobia of the London Underground to great effect. Not to be confused with Mark Duplass’ Creep. This Creep is a disfigured underground/sewer dweller hell bent on inflicting pain and misery on those who cross his path. Kate who is on her way home from a party becomes stuck and almost helpless in the London Underground after the final train has left. In the shadows lurks an unimaginable terror, can Kate survive the night? Or will she be another addition to the skeletons deep underground.

The creep has a weird grotesque appearance. The film isn’t quite as violent as you might assume. Not to say it doesn’t have it’s gory moments. One particular gruesome scene that involves a hook in the neck and a fast train will satisfy some viewers blood lust. I think it’s the film’s atmosphere that shines the most. It’s dark down in the underground, on the tracks and in the tunnels. Who knows what could be lurking down there.
The transfer on Blu-ray looked good and was a significant upgrade from my old DVD.
