Frightstick Episode 3

I have tried everything to rid my life of this Frightstick. This haunted streaming device, this technology from Hell. Many things have occurred since I met my human girlfriend, Ivy. Some good and some dreadful! I’ll admit I too have taken advantage of the Frightstick’s abilities. You could even say it brought me & Ivy closer together. Over the past year since meeting, our date nights and recreation have revolved around being transported into the world of our television. From distant lands to terrors not far away. We’ve battled Lovecraftian sea monsters & violent serial killers. Now, in case you didn’t know, I’m a zombie named Harold, so I do not scare easily. However, even I have become deeply concerned for Ivy.

It’s like every time she and I went on a Frightstick adventure, a part of her remained there because all she ever wanted to do was disappear into the haunted world of my haunted TV setup. She has become obsessed. Restaurant? “No.” Cinema? “Nah.” She has even stopped leaving the house. Sometimes all she does is wait until evening, anticipating going in. Now, this is going to sound sinister, but I think that something has attached itself to Ivy. Something not of this world or realm of existence. Something that doesn’t belong here. I believe it latched onto her during one of our Frightstick adventures.

Her attitude has changed; her whole personality has altered in a few short months. Pinpointing what has followed her and possibly possessed her is the tricky part. What foreign entity is it? Also, where did it escape from? The kind, happy-go-lucky, cool chick I fell for is now a colder, more manipulative and distant woman. She snaps and gets angry faster than you can blink. Just last week, I found her standing over me when I woke up, staring at me all wide-eyed and clutching a knife.

“Ivy, Ivy, wake up, it’s me.”

After saying this, she dropped the sharp instrument to the ground and we embraced.

I have a plan, I have an idea. I’m going to revisit the movies on the Frightstick that we have been transported into. From bloody battlefields to haunted slasher camps. It’s all in the watch history. By doing this, maybe I can figure out what has Ivy in its clutches. Then, once I exorcise this entity, monster, demon or whatever the hell it is, I’ll destroy the Frightstick and dispatch it from our lives.

I’ll share my findings in the next episode of this account. Stay tuned because I’m hoping by then I’ll know what is wrong with Ivy.
