The Goblin Debt Collector

For weeks Mary had been receiving letters regarding an outstanding fee that she didn’t owe a finance company. Clueless and confused, she checked her bank statement after receiving a final warning from a debt collection company named Goblin. What a peculiar choice of name, she thought, as she cradled the letter between her fingertips. After once again concluding that this must be a clerical error with the letter intended for someone else, she screwed the letter up and shot for the bin; it landed in there, and she concerned herself with more pressing matters.

Mary lived in a comfortable small high-rise apartment which had a breathtaking view of the city. Later that night, after sensually pleasuring herself and reaching orgasm, she fell asleep. At 2.55am she was woken from her slumber by an aggressive knock at her door. She sat upright in bed. Who could that be at this hour? She felt alarmed and nervous as her eyes darted around her bedroom. Two minutes passed and then another loud knock hammered the door. Still sitting upright, she decided to go and investigate the late-night disturbance despite being petrified. She rolled out of bed, pulled on her panties, then covered her top half with a small T-shirt that stopped at her bellybutton.

The plan was to creep through the lounge without light and take a look through her peephole. As she tiptoed through her lounge, another bang thwack nailed the door. Mary stopped dead in her tracks, frozen in fear. After seconds of mustering up enough courage, she continued to creep toward the door. She pressed her slender body up against the door and directed her right eye close to the peephole. To her amazement, there was nothing there. “Must have been a drunk,” she muttered to herself. She began to turn away, then all of a sudden, knock knock again. “Who’s there?”

Those were the only words she could squeal. “Goblin debt collection,” a gravelly, harsh, raspy voice replied. Mary thought it’s those arseholes who think I owe them money.

Now shaking with fear, she inhaled a deep breath and stated that the letters were a mistake and she owed no more to this company and it was all an error on the finance company’s part. “Your name’s Mary, right?” the voice grunted through the door. “Go away, I’m calling the police,” shrieked Mary. “Let’s keep this simple. Either you open up and pay your outstanding debt or I will find another way to collect,” the voice hissed. Mary scurried to the door’s peephole and peered through. What she saw made her heart fall to her feet. Standing at the door was something unimaginable: a hideous, grotesque, orc-like-looking goblin dressed in some kind of ancient battle armour. Its green, slimy skin shimmered in the dim hallway light. Their eyes were cold, and their voice was that of someone who smoked hundreds of cigarettes a day. “Open up, last time.” Mary turned and pressed her back against the door, sweat pouring down her forehead. Suddenly, right next to her face, an axe was plunged through the door. Mary began to run to her closet and armed herself with a wooden baseball bat.

She stared at the broken door. The goblin shoved his head through the gap in the door. “Time to pay your debts, you little bitch. This has been a long time coming.” He then stepped back and rammed the door; it collapsed before Mary’s feet. In the doorway the goblin stood, fierce and short, with a stature of around five feet, brandishing a sharp medieval war axe. The goblin came through slowly towards Mary, who was shaking and in complete shock. “No, this can’t be happening,” she cried. “But it is, and it will all be over soon,” the goblin giggled. Suddenly, he rushed Mary, swiping both of her legs at once in one fell swoop with his axe. The blade sliced through both at the midway point simultaneously. Mary, or what was left of her, collapsed into a fresh pool of her own blood. Blood squirted and gushed from the stumps where her lovely legs had been. In shock and spasming on the floor, she began to fade as the goblin picked her up by her hair and looked deep into her eyes.

“You’ve been a very naughty girl.” The goblin then took his axe and instantly scalped Mary. She died instantly. The goblin strapped his axe to his back, shook his head, and headed out of the apartment. Mary, mutilated and scalped, was left face down in a pool of blood. The reason Goblin debt collection showed up was because the year prior, Mary had had an affair with her best friend’s husband. The wife found the contact for Goblin debt collection on the dark web. Mary’s best friend had been left distraught, stabbed in the back by the people she trusted most. This drove her into a frenzy where all she could think of was revenge.
