No Budget. No Rules. No Apologies: The Shot On Video Fury of Little Corey Gorey

Bathing in early 90s shot on video glory comes Little Corey Gorey. No budget, no polish simply a few mates with a camcorder. Overflowing with punk attitude and a willingness to embrace the messy. It’s Basement chaos shot on video warfare that you don’t simply watch, you survive.

Corey is oppressed by his overbearing guardian and all she wants to do is stop the party. However little Corey has a sporadic plan that will leave her all tied up. Shot looking like a dirty, grubby static laden VHS treasure find. The S.O.V murderous punk rock grime- fest delivers a gruesome carnage filled, booze & drug fuelled adventure. This ain’t no highbrow coming of age tale. Or “cinema” it’s a shot of the strongest spirit you can locate and neck before you throw your guts up.

Little Corey Gorey knows exactly what it is. With a flimsy plot that’s pointless in structure, impressive practical effects and zero technicality. It’s a two by four round the back of the head you need to experience at least once. My favourite scene involves a dude smashing through a glass shower panel.

Little Corey Gorey isn’t clever, it isn’t polished or even tightly structured. However it’s alive. It captures a moment when horror didn’t wait for permission. A camcorder, fake blood and sheer conviction were enough. That alone make this shot on video trash bag of raw horror worth preserving.
