Lists! I like compiling them especially when it’s horrific delights for your viewing pleasure. Streaming service Shudder has a wide range of terrifying treats. I’ve rounded up a mixture of Oldies and some of their best original movies for this trick or treat sack of spooky goodies.

It has mutant babies yes a brood of strange little weird people. Theres distorted therapy and body horror galore in David Cronenberg’s seventies shocker. Oliver Reed stars which is always a plus and delivers a top performance as Dr. Hal Raglan.

9. The Whip And The Body (1963)

A must see gothic encounter for any Mario Bava enthusiast. Christopher Lee whips up a foreboding performance as Kurt Menliff who returns to his family’s castle were his insatiable lust for Nevenka grows into a dark obsession.

8. Hellraiser (1987)

Clive Barker’s twisted tale of forbidden intrigue, pain & resurrection is a bonafide horror classic. Hellraiser’s core story is centred around Kirsty who relocates with her father and stepmother Julia to a new home on English soil. However Julia is hiding a dark secret one that involves Kirsty’s dead uncle Frank and a mysterious puzzle box “the lament configuration.

7. In A Violent Nature Nature (2024)

Imagine a movie which is completely from a brutal killer’s P.O.V. That’s what you get here. A collection of grisly slayings and an unpredictable wooded location. What will the Kill tally be?

6. The Innkeepers (2012)

The Innkeepers is Ti West’s slow burn ghost story soaked in atmosphere and creeping dread. When two hotel workers turned ghost hunters uncover the disturbing past of their place of work. It is only a matter of time before something unnerving presents itself. It’s a complete slow burn but the final pay off is worth it.

A couples marriage breaks down into turmoil and as the plot thickens Mark must figure out why his wife Anna is engaging in shifty visits to a random city apartment.

4. Opera (1987)

Another masterpiece from the maestro of Italian horror Dario Argento. A young opera starlet is hounded and stalked by a sick sadistic killer with a disturbing M.O. Witness every murder as if you are being made to observe every last brutal moment.

3. Night Of The Demons (1988)

You are invited to a bat-shit crazy Halloween bash at an abandoned property. One you will never escape from. Night of the Demons is pure over the top 80’s fun with ghastly demons and seances.

2. PG: Psycho Goreman (2020)

Never mind the power rangers! PG and his pals are hitting planet earth. Can PG restore his powers and save himself and the planet from his violent cartoonishly awesome advisories? There’s action, comedy and buckets of blood.

1. Day Of The Dead (1985)

George A Romero’s follow up to Dawn of the Dead is leaner, meaner and more unforgiving. Set in a underground military base a group of zombie outbreak survivors and scientists wrestle with the living dead and a band of antagonistic military personnel. It’s a true zombie banger with Tom Savini’s incredible effects work and it’s eye popping gory moments.
