Out of sheer curiosity, I decided to purchase a Blu-Ray copy of found footage filth August Underground. I can now say I have seen revolting antics that I couldn’t even imagine.
Revolting!
This film is truly revolting. Yuck yuck. Overall it probably wouldn’t shock a seasoned horror movie enthusiast. Still a certain scene in particular is just something even I, a gore hound, doesn’t want to see. I cannot un-see the depraved act perpetrated on screen. The film follows two sick bastards as they disturbingly act out their depraved fantasies.
Be warned the scene covered next is not for the faint of heart. In a yucky basement there is a women naked and covered in blood from head to toe. She is tied up to a chair and barely conscious. The insane animals responsible have mutilated her left breast. It looks sickening, it’s very nasty indeed. Too add insult to injury in a later scene, the chubby deranged killer decide to play with her faeces. Then it goes too far. The man decides to rub her own waste all over her exposed body and into the wounded breast. I had to hit the fast forward button for some seconds. I still saw what was occurring on screen but seeing it quicker did weaken the blow.
In the film one guy is filming and cheering on his despicable, disturbed friend. The most entertaining scenes in August Underground, which is a stretch, is when the two begin to harass and taunt a shopkeeper. The man clearly isn’t having any of the devilish pairing’s tomfoolery. He swiftly kicks them out of the store as the pair jeer and basically act like a pair of unhinged pricks. However and unfortunately for the shopkeeper, the two soon return and brutally assault him. The camera guy finds a couple hiding within the aisles at the back of the store. These two are fresh meat for the sick killers. They assault and berate the two victims until they are floor bound and broken emotionally.
When you think things couldn’t get any worse. The killers decide to command the male victim to sniff his girlfriends ass. If he doesn’t he will face death. After the butt sniffing, they now demand that the guy’s girlfriend returns the favour and she does just that. Of course out of fear for her life.
These main characters have to be the biggest pieces of human waste ever depicted on screen. They know no bounds and will do literally any depraved act to feed their sick lust for blood. August Underground is sick, twisted, gnarly and looks realistic. Even as a horror fan I found no enjoyment or entertainment on offer in this disgustingly appalling found footage filth fest. The film also isn’t very good and it was a relief for me when it ended. Weighing in at a short seventy minutes where you feel every second. The film sinks to new low levels of depravity. If the filmmakers objective was to make viewers need a shower afterwards and make them want to throw their guts up. Then fair play & well done. Mission Complete.
