10 Horror recommendations now streaming on Amazon Prime

Here’s 10 great horror movies now available for streaming on Amazon Prime.

10. Unwelcome (2023)

After an assault takes place at their city based home. A couple move to the country. Whist settling into their new country home they soon uncover a secret. There’s Goblins in the nearby woods. What you have here is a fun modern horror, of course it’s all about the goblins. They are the stars of the movie.

9. Feast (2005)

Trapped in a bar under attack from carnivorous unimaginable creatures. A group must defend themselves or perish. Feast is an intense ride. You will have seen films similar. Still don’t let that stop you from Viewing this suspenseful creature feature.

8. Long Legs (2024)

Maika Monroe (It Follows) is an FBI agent hunting a creepy serial killer known as Long Legs played by Nicholas Cage (Con Air, Mandy) This is one of the better mainstream horror movies from last year. It does have it’s dull moments and isn’t perfect. But as the movie moves along in runtime it does certainly become rather interesting. Nic Cage’s performance will creep you out and he is the best thing about the film. There’s more questions than answers towards the film’s end. However this is worth checking out even once.

7. Splinter (2008)

A needle ridden parasite terrorises a couple and anyone else in the line fire at a gas station. What ensues is a fight for survival against this nasty little creature. There’s intense moments and a good dose of violence.

6. American Gothic (1987)

A slice of 80s now with this piece of horror centred around a group of travellers fighting off a bizarre family of psychopaths.

5. Needful Things (1993)

Everything about Needful Thing’s aesthetic screams 90’s Stephen King adaptation. Well, that’s exactly what you’re in for. Ed Harris (knightriders, The Truman Show) & classic actor Max Von Sydow lead the cast. It’s a tale of revenge in some areas and a lesson in not selling your soul for a particular dream.

4. House Of 1000 Corpses (2003)

Rob Zombie directs this throwback horror where a group of friends are exploring America’s rural Backwoods countryside. In the pursuit of Dr. Satan the group encounters the Firefly family who offer help & shelter when their car breaks down. What ensues is carnage and a bloody fight for survival. This movie is Zombie’s best in my opinion. The final act is dripping with great horror atmosphere from the underground lair of Dr. Satan to the crazy costumes.

3. Dawn Of The Dead Theatrical Cut (1978)

George A Romero follows up Night of the Living Dead with this stone cold zombie classic. Mainly set inside an abandoned shopping mall. When there’s no more room in hell the dead will walk the earth.

2. The Blair Witch Project (1999)

The film responsible for igniting the 2000’s found footage craze is polarising. Some people I’ve spoken to call it overrated and boring. I am here to tell you that they are incorrect. This is a top tier found footage film. It’s also as scary as being trapped in miles of secluded woodland. Tormented by an old entity with no chance of escape. Wait, that’s exactly what it is.

1. The Lighthouse (2019)

Robert Egger’s second film is a mind altering thriller. Robert Pattinson and Willem Defoe put in stellar performances as they absorb their character roles to the point of absurdity. It’s two guys taking care of a lighthouse, isolated on a small island. What could go wrong?

There’s some interesting and scary recommendations. I’m going to be compiling more lists for streaming platforms, so keep an eye out.
