The Greatest Horror Movie Soundtracks Part 1

Day Of The Dead (1985)

This here is a weekly listen for me. It’s a fairly short one with some long tracks. Get lost in the dead suite, It’s an amazing piece with variety and switches up all of the time.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

The score from ANOES fits and suits the film perfectly. The main theme is scary and hypnotising. The soundtrack features Robert Englund’s Freddy Krueger often in vocal snippets from the horror classic.

Halloween (1978)

Well, what would any Soundtrack recommendations list be without John Carpenter? The main piano theme is so iconic even people who haven’t watched the movie know it.

Candyman (1992)

This entire soundtrack cuts deep, with it’s haunting main theme by Philip Glass and the music box variation. The music from Candyman is one of the most artful and greatest from the horror genre.

Suspiria (1977)

One of my personal favourites here with Suspiria’s top tier mix of sounds and excellent production from Italian masters Goblin. The main theme encapsulates the film tremendously. “Witch”

More music recommendations on the way after I refresh my ears with some more outstanding classics.
