What an interesting concept In A Violent Nature has. A documentary style film following a resurrected killer from the grave as he hacks his way through different victims until he retrieves his beloved family heirloom. A chain taken from his grave. The group camping in the woods have no idea of the grisly fate that awaits.
The movie features a variety of nasty kills and scenes. Especially on where the killer uses his chain with a hook to basically pull the victims head down and through a wound in the body. It’s actually one of the best and gnarliest kills I’ve seen in a slasher. A plot is near enough non existent the whole film feels almost like a video game where the viewer is the killer. Dead By Daylight anyone? The method of filming is innovative especially for the slasher sub-genre. Theres beautiful shots of the wilderness as the killer stalks the backwoods of rural America. The victims are throw away characters which isn’t detrimental to the film as it’s all about the helmeted maniac. The final ten minutes is the dullest part of the film. As it’s one of the victims being rescued by an older woman who gives us some exposition which slows the pace of the film down. The ending is underwhelming and anticlimactic. Overall I would highly recommend this different and innovative slasher to fans of the genre. You can chill and have a good time with this one.
