2021 Icelandic film Lamb is an endearing and charming feature, centring around an isolated farming couple who take in a baby Lamb as their own kin.

5. There are more layers to Lamb than you would expect

When I starting watching Lamb I didn’t know what to expect. I was intrigued but slightly on the fence as to which story Lamb was trying convey. This feeling slowly evaporated as I became more and more immersed in this beautifully shot film littered with mystery and undertones.

4. The Baby Lamb Ada is adorable

Slight spoiler but not overly revealing. We all know little animals are cuties and arguably more loyal and lovable than human being. Baby Lamb Ada is no exception especially when we see Ada’s human side. You will have to watch to decode that remark. Some may see a monstrosity, not me. Ada is cuter than a human baby and less high maintenance.

3. The film is shot perfectly with a magnificent location

Set on an isolated farm in the Icelandic hills, Lamb is dripping with gorgeous scenery and its easy to become absorbed in the films environment. I wish I lived there.

2. Theres plenty of material to dive deep into

Lamb as a movie is charming however there are some peculiarly strange scenes that will leave some of us scratching our heads. Its obvious there is a substantial portion of metaphors, symbolism & mythology behind this tale.

1. The ending slaps you hard across the face

The film’s climax is fantastically shocking and I will know you’re lying if you say that you saw it coming. Yes whilst watching the viewer will be aware something weird and sinister is on the verge of occurring. What does take place is heartbreaking and visually startling. It is one of the best endings I have witnessed in a long time and will fuel the deep dive after even further. You will be grabbing your phone and scouring the internet for explanations and interpretations.
