I have been going through various different lists. As I try to excite myself for forthcoming horror scheduled for a 2025 release. I have come to conclusion that this could be an entertaining year for scare addicts. There’s Some heavy hitters and a lot of mainstream sequels which does leave me somewhat less excited. Don’t get it twisted however some of the sequels are on my most anticipated 2025 list.
Hell House LLC: Lineage
Release date: October 2025
Oh Hell House you are now one of my favourite franchises after countless rewatches and hours of thrills courtesy of the Abaddon hotel and its ghostly inhabitants. This new movie Lineage is set for an October 2025 release. Every time Shudder drop a Hell house, I turn it into an event for myself. Obviously it’s on streaming thanks to Shudder. Still I treat it like appointment television. The previous entry The Carmichael manor genuinely sent chills down my spine. Which is not something I’m use to. Filming for Lineage began last year and I’m pumped for This new instalment which will no doubt drop close to Halloween. The only problem is my Umbrella Blu-ray set is now deemed as incomplete.
28 Years Later
Release date: 20th June 2025
With its 75 million dollar budget it’s very clear this is going to be a large scale movie and will also will be a hit at the box office. It’s the third instalment with Danny Boyle at the helm in the directors chair. If you have seen the trailer? You’ll be aware of the Cillian Murphy zombie appearance.
Fear Street: Prom Queen
Release Date: 2025
Based on one of Goosebump’s author RL.Stine’s Fear street books comes this new adaptation. Going off the previous Netflix trilogy, this should be campy in places and a lot of fun.
Frankenstein
Release date: November 2025
Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of water & Pan’s Labyrinth) is directing this remake. How exciting! This could be a modern gothic masterpiece. It’s also hitting Netflix so subscribers to the platform hopefully will get their money’s worth of entertainment.
M3gan 2.0
Release date: 27th June 2025
M3gan was a fun mainstream horror movie. Now she’s back and fully rejuvenated. Fingers crossed the violence will be turned up to the max and I’m certain this Killer doll bitch will have some new dance moves.
The Monkey
Release date: 21st February 2025
Based on a Stephen King short story The Monkey directed by Osgood Perkins (Long Legs) tells the tale of a Cursed Toy Monkey that brings death to those around it. It’s always fantastic to see a new Stephen King adaptation especially one that hasn’t been adapted before.

Popeye The Slayer Man (this will be trashy but the idea of Popeye punching through peoples heads is an exciting proposal.
